Kingfisher Marine Services is built on a simple philosophy: our clients should have clear, accurate information to make confident decisions about their vessel — whether buying, negotiating, repairing, or maintaining a motor cruiser, sailing yacht or sports boat. We deal with vessels up to 24 meters.
We provide independent marine surveys and advice that explain not just what you are looking at, but what it means in practical terms. Our reports are written in plain English, allowing owners, buyers, insurers, and financiers to clearly understand a vessel’s condition, associated risks, and potential implications — without unnecessary jargon.
Based in Norfolk, we regularly work across the Norfolk Broads and the East Coast, while also undertaking surveys, consultancy, and project work throughout the UK, Europe, and further afield when required. We have experience with GRP, and traditional wooden vessels, across both private and commercial sectors.
The company is led by Ian Patience, a fully qualified marine surveyor, Commercial Ocean Yachtmaster, and Chartered Engineer and also sits on the British Marine commercial committee. Ian brings many years of hands-on experience within the marine industry, combining technical expertise with practical operational knowledge. In addition to surveying, he has successfully delivered a range of consultancy assignments and vessel projects across Europe, acting in the best interests of owners, buyers, and stakeholders.
